i had the same problem with my 55 this summer. I got a fan and skimmed it over the surface, but you cant do that in a nano. What Coral Keeper did was get a Computer cooling fan and stick it on top of the intake fan. That way it blew the air in the tank cooling it down. What i would do is stick the fan over the out-take and draw the air out. But i got my cup a few weeks ago when it was not hot. Aim ur pump flow at the surface to create a nice ripple. The ripple effect can lower tank temp by 1-2 degrees. Also, the main problem with temperature is not the heat but fluctuations. So set ur tank temp to like 82 and that will eliminate the fluctuations.

These chillers are great for small and nano aquariums. Each chiller features a super quiet, energy efficient high BTU compressor and includes an integrated dual-stage digital temperature controller (60° - 80º), 1/2” inlet and 5/8” outlet barb fittings, 6 foot power cord and R134A refrigerant. Rubber feet eliminate vibration noise.

ANY know anything about this chiller?? The first one is only 254 dollars and free shipping. Man if i had known i was gonna have these problems w/ this nanocube i would have just would have bought a small tank and made my own nano.

I highly recommend getting the nano chiller by JBJ. I am guessing that is the one you put the description of. I have a small JBJ chiller and it is working great. Keeps the tempetures at 78.0F. The whole fan thing didnt work for me because it caused too much evaporation, and on such a small tank, you can't afford to have too much evaporation. With the chiller, I dont have to top off for 2 weeks. And Only a cup every 2 or 3 weeks of top off water.
