tank ?

My mom gave me her used 55 that i was going to set up as a reef tank but theres one problam with it the strip that goes a cross the top for the hood was melted off. Is this going to cause any problams when i go to fill it up? Like will it crack or somthing? If so do they sell a replacement part for that?

Im not sure, but I would just take the tank to the side of the house and fill it up with water with the hose. You can then check for leaks or any signs of wear.

Yeah, fill it up outside and see what happens... if the tank bows or anything like that.
You should be able to replace the metal strip pretty easily.. just go to home depot and ask
