Ok... heres the deal... ive had a P. clown in my tank for about 2 mts now. I went to the LFS to see if i could get another. Picked one up, but after it was in my tank, i noticed it was a lot lighter than my origional. They seem to be getting along... case eachother sometimes, but not often....Did i get two different types of clowns??

The one on top is the origional Clown

One on left is origional

Both are false percs. They just have slightly different coloration. No biggy :) they'll hopefully love each other dispite their difference of color.

True percs have thick black outlines of their white stripes. False percs or true ocellaris have very thine black lines that outline their white stripes.. thats the easiest visual way to tell them apart.

ya they are both false percs. looks like you stool my clowns.
do a search on google on "true percula clown" in the second column from the left 2 from the bottom is a really nice picture of a true percula.
and the pict in 1st column 1st row is a false perc.
you can see a big difference.

The only question I would have is that they appear the same size, and everything I've read said that if you add another clown into the picture it should be significantly smaller than the first one due to them sexing themselves, if one is already there it is probably female and the other should be smaller so the one already in there should have dominance and size in her corner.

Most likely if you have one in the tank its a male. If you add a smaller one to that already established male then the established one should turn female from that point and grow larger.
