Tankmate idea's

I may be getting a 95 in which I will transfer my 55 reef to. This will leave the 55 to be set up as an aggressive tank! I've always wanted a porcupine and eels. I was thinking a snowflake and maybe another similar eel. I'm not sure what else I like that would go well with these 3. I was thinking maybe a scorpionfish (that would be cool!). I don't really care for lions, or triggers. Any other suggestion would be great.

a porc puffer will get too large (15+") to be kept in a 55 gal indefinately. the snowflake eel will be fine.
tankmates might include: dwarf puffers, dwarf lions, dwarf angels, the larger clowns, and certain eels.

maybea frog fish. idk if theres a difference from them and scorpions.
but i had one in a ten gallon for awhile but the thing was scary ha ha. so i took it to a store and got a instore credit and got dwarf seahorses. if you play the right music like heavy metal or rap they might seem agressive. haha!

Well my book says max length 11.8 in. min tank 75 gal., which I figured I would buy a small one and worry about it later as it got closer to full grown. (Maybe upgrade tanks again)
I don't really care for any other puffers or any lions. And dwarf angels and clowns aren't really aggressive to me.
Frogfish and toadfish to me are a lot like scorpionfish, so I would consider either.

according to fishbase, porcupine puffers, Diodon holocanthus, grow to 50cm. this is about 20 inches. if you think you might upgrade down the road, i can't argue that part with you.

So would a Scorpionfish be ok with a porc. and a couple eels?

puffers are much like triggers, they differ in personality based on the individual. Some puffers are very curious and like to "sample" their surrondings, they do this by nipping, which spells disaster for a frog fish, try an orange toadfish "opsanus Pardus" the have incredible color, and would fare well as they do not have waving appendages like lions and frogs, and they are as hardy as anything out there. I have one in my tank and really like it.

That's a good description, porky puffers like to sample anything...Thermometers, veggie clips, fingers, rocks, and especially non or slow moving fish.

So Frogs and Scorps are slow moving? I thought they were fast?
Also, how would a spotted puffer or a sharpnose puffer do?
(I would also try to introduce fish at the same size)

Haha. I guess I'm not sure what it's actually called, but the LFS has really cool puffer but I can't find it on the net. Body like a Toby, but kind of rainbow colored...

if you plan on upgrading, than you can get away with a puffer. If not, i DO NOT recommend it. most puffers get big and require ample room to swim around. if you really want a puffer, IMO i would keep the 55 gal a reef tank and make the 90 a species only.

I may be getting a 95
MOPARDWH, most upgrades that are thought of never much happens, and being as it is in your 55, you will find that you are extremely limited to what you can manage. For any long periods in doing any eel in your 55, you will soon enough learn that your only choice in eels be a dwarf or other eels that grows not more then two feet. And even an eel at two feet, you would not be able to keep just any eel for in which case your selection are few and most hobbyists can never manage to obtain such eels in which draws you right back to a SFE, in which case there be some difference in opinion on aquarium size which I say shouldn't be any smaller then a 75 gallon tank, for the long term in keeping such eels.
I taking the time to name a few and the many others that even that they could fit and live well enough in a 55, your problems would be in what other fish you might try to have as well. For please take note that the last eel listed here, that even due to the fact that the Caribbean chestnut moray would fit well in a 55, you will find however that you will have a major problem in keeping any other fish in with it.
Greyface moray
Richardson's moray
Ghost moray
Goldentail moray
Geometric moray
Palenose moray
Abbott's moray eel
Caribbean chestnut moray
larger clowns
MOPARDWH, NEreef mentions a larger clownfish for it might have a survive due to its size, maybe.
and a couple eels?
There be only two ways this could happen inside a 55. Those two be as, your either a pair of dwarf eels, in which case you may be able to have a few small fish, but nothing slim looking or under 3". And the other be that your only a pair of eels, in which case you not have many of those i listed here other then you could have a pair of either the Caribbean chestnut, Richardson's, Goldentail or Ghost morays.
Perhaps you wish to think about upgrading somewhat sooner?
