Here's my 55 gal. I am running a fluval 303, a skilter 400, 2 powerheads, and a coralife 260 50/50. I have about 35lbs of live rock and about 45 of base. My tank used to be a display tank at a lfs. I bought it and set it up about 6 weeks ago and i have my first couple of growths of coraline
I change 5 gallons every week or 2 and my water is good.
PS- Anyone care to guess how old and what kind of powerhead that little blue one is in the bottom left corner???

if you are running a fuge that is not HOB, in my book, you are running a sump
it is the same thing. just you might not have as much area for your return pump or skimmer (if at all)

for the most part your right. i feel the same way. but im sure there are some that say a sump is a sump and a fuse is a fuse. sumps have no growth and are for equipment. i just made my fuse part fuse part sump
maybe i should call it my "fump"

Just re-setup this tank in my new house...very few fish right now.it's only been here for about 2 months..I run a carbon filter & nothing more other than chemicals and supplements...Deepsandbed & LR is what takes care of the rest...right now because I just set it back up there is some nasty diatoms going on, but in the past I had a small blue hippo, 2 perculas, a mandarin goby, royal gramma, & a few snails...and never had any problems what so ever.
