I am getting a 120 gallon tank that measures 48x24x24. I plan on lighting it with 2 250 MH w/6500k Iwasaki. 2 or 3 110 watt VHO actinics. I plan on keeping sps and clams. I understand that this is only 6 watts a gallon, but from wwhat I understand is that with MH or other point source lighting that it is more up to tank depth. I guess what I am trying to ask is this light sufficent.

Not sure about the watts per gallon using MH's. I have noticed that most of the sharks, etc that are keeping good SPS and clams are using around 7 to 9 watts per gallon including their MH's. Think you would be ok if you used 4 - 110 VHO's. That would put you at 6.9.
