I live in the country and I was wondering if it is neccasary to have an RO/DI with coral? I have inverts in the tank right now and they are doing fine.
Tap water and coral?

It's not that using tap water can necessarily harm corals and inverts (unless there's copper in it). It's not ideal to use and most people have algae problems, but it can be done. I went from using tap to using RO/DI and noticed a lot of improvements though.

I'm wondering the same thing, I have well water and use a metal reducing liquid thing (capful) when i make my saltwater and dont have any probs, tank is just over a year old, but now i am about to begin adding corals! i will keep an eye on this thread to see what people say.
