Tap Water Question

When I lived in MA in a water shed area our tap water was very good with very few harmfull chemicals - so upon moving to PA I decided to set up my tank with Tap again. BAD BAD BAD Idea - after the cycle things everything put in the tank died with a week. so after about $500.00 of wasted money we did a 50% water change and let it sit for a while = Now everything is happy and healthy
I will never use TAP again! I shoulda just listened to you all from the begining My fish and wallet would be a lot happier!

Your water is the most important factor in your setup. Don't make the animals pay with their life for this oversight. You can acquire RO water cheaply through the lfs or above mentioned sources.
