Target is NOT a French Company

I've gotten about 4 emails in the past week for people to boycot shopping at target because they are French company. This is totally false. Target was founded in 1902 in Minneapolis Minnesota and is a 100% USA company.
Target
I just had to vent for a minute as I'm sure some of you have received this also.

People are to sensitive.
You boycott places because of prices not race or ethnicity. Thats just down right pigheaded.

I think that rumor came from people calling it Tarjey - I hear people call it that all the time. I never figured out why people say it - and I felt stupid asking - like I should know why? Has anyone else heard someone call it that?

I've heard a lot off pple pronounce it AS IF it were written in Frnech so it sounds like "tarjay"
The pple I hear this from do it bc they r trying to make it sound classier..... maybe someone heard this pronunciation and got confused....?

That's another thing that people complain about that is not true. The latest is because they don't allow the Salvation Army ring their bell and collect money. Target has always had a no solicitation policy. They actually made an acception for the salvation army one year and were harassed because they wouldn't let every tom, ---- and harry that wanted to put up a table and try to sell or collect from people after that so they had to deny them the following year. I don't have a problem with that at all. I go to the store to shop there, not have someone try to sell me something on the way in.
I have called it tarjay also which I agree is how the rumor got started. It is called that to show it as an upscale place compared to walmart which it is. I hate Walmarts with a passion. They are overcrowded, nasty and the people that shop there are just plain rude.

It cracks me up when people site snopes like they are the ultimate autority. It is a site that is run by a husband and wife out of their house. If I remember there was an article in the local paper many years ago about how they ran it out of their trailer. They run the site after he does his full time job as a programmer. So while their site may be entertaining I trust it no more than any other unknown website.

Actually, when it comes to rumors and urban legends, Snopes is about as good as it gets but they themselves state that they are not the ultimate authority. It is owned by a husband and wife, but they do a ton or research to verify their answers and offer references to their research. They may not be the ultimate authority, but they do go to great efforts to research what they present and offer the references for you to make up your own mind. It is easy enough though to prove that Target is not a French company. Just go look up it's corporate filings.

They took Christ out of Christmas!!! That is why they are being boycotted.
Until they go back to say Merry Christmas and stop printing and say Happy Holidays, I will also continue to Boycott them. The Boycotting works ..Look how Walmart went back to saying Merry Christmas.
P.S. I DON'T CARE WHERE THERE FROM!!!

Yes, they were asked to support one of the Military Memorials and they flat out refused. Because of that I WILL NOT shop there.
