Target Mandarin

I have a 29 gallon which has been up for 6 months, 50lbs of LR and CPR's HOB fuge which has been up and running for a week. The fuge has 2" of Mineral Mud and Cheateo in it. What are the chances of a Mandarin surviving? My tank is loaded w/ red flatworms and some pods (I've had more in the past, when I did not have the fuge, but when my LR was first introduced). Should I add some new LR to the fuge?

In My Opinion, mandarins dont need to live off of the pods to survive. I usually recommend that you feed them the frozen brime and mysis shrimp and they do just well. Others may tell you otherwise.

We feed frozen meaty foods daily, our mandrin only eats pods, can't depend on them taking food, You can purchase pods to go in tank and fuge as we did, works great have huge population now.

Brine shrimp have little to no nutritional value for marine animals. They should NEVER be part of a regular diet...but okay as an occassional treat. They lose most of the desired nutritional value within hours after hatching.
Your system is too small to house a Mandarin. it will most likely starve. Take it back before it does.

When I had my mandarin thats what he ate and he seemed healthy, so I just figured it was alright. I didnt know they didnt have nutritional value.

So you live by the 75lbs of live rock rule to have a Mandarin?

I would recommend 100 LBS and it must be mature. You could do it witl less lr if you have an adequate population in a fuge.
No absolutes but the more lr you have the greater chance for success. My opinion a 29 gallon with a fuge is still too small to house adquate pods on a consistnet basis for a mandarin.

I do have two other options:
1. The massive outbreak of red flatworms in my tank.
2. Getting a bottle of SeaPods to supplement my fuge.

Where can you get these Pods in a Bottle? I have a 55 gal with 55lbs of CC, and 105 to 110lbs of live rock, also using a HOB as a refuge with Fuval wooden pellets for pods to live in. System has been going for 9 months. Should this be adequate for a mandarin.

Try to replace the wooden pellets w/ Cheateo Algae. The pellets might become a nitrate factory. Pods love Cheateo, and it will help reduce nitrates more than the pellets will. Here's the link for pods.
