Tassle Filefish... Snail Killer??

My buddy says his tassle has been eating his turbo snails... Has anyone heard of them doing this?
I found it kind of odd...

I know some freshwater puffers eat only snails which helps trim their teeth, I don't know about filefish, though. Maybe snails are on their diet?
