If they were THAT worried about the intentions of streakers, they should have instituted the taser sometime since now and a few years back when that guy got beat. (I don't remember specifics).

Pepper spray is some nasty stuff. I've been in the area where it was sprayed and it was intense.
I knew someone who's ex pepper sprayed him for no good reason and he swatted at her and got lucky and broke her nose. Her friend called the cops on him but luckily there were witnesses. She was cited for aggravated assault. Sometimes there is justice in the world.

someone else at the Philly/St Louis game tried this same thing. He gave in quickly ,apparently didn't want to be tasered for the world to see. Really folks, this isn't cute. Lets see what fool tries again in Philly.

Thats true Ive never experienced a tazer so I shouldn't compare the two. I just know I never want to be peppered again and I would imagine police tazers are very different than the ones bought for civilian use, there for leaving a lasting lasting impression. I see them drop grown men on cops all the time.
Sure it may be excessive on a teenager but were are a bit touchy with people doing foolish things in large masses of people. the kid should have had second thoughts as soon as he saw the cops. I'm sure they weren't hiding.

You can actually go out and buy the taser he used, depending on state laws. It is nothing really weird.

A buddy of mine is a San Antonio cop, and he told me one time that during rookie training they ask for 'volunteers' to come up and experience the effects of tazers and pepper spray, so that they will be familiar with the effects those devices have on someone they plan on using it on. He laughed and said pretty much everyone volunteered, and the tazer felt like sticking your finger in a light socket and making your entire body convulse.

US on the other hand have only 4 players under contract and IN ADDITION TO SIGNING D Wade it leaves us Cap space for Another or even 2 more STARS like a CP3, BOSH.. EVEN LABRON'S name is being thrown around believe it or not.. He loves DWade and South Beach. It fits his style. Lets see who's laughing net October.

James won't leave Cleveland as long as thy're winning Championships. The only talking when he becomes a free agent is how much bigger his salary will get, and who will they bring in to help him win more (talk in Cleveland is Wade will go up THERE). Wade is a Kobe Wannabe and couldn't even pull that off this year with yet another 'one and done' season. I'd say "Have a nice baseball season", but does Miami even have a team?

I live near Philly and believe that the kid should have had a taser used to apprehend him.
He texted his parents to ask their opinion if he should go onto the field! His dad texted back 'NO'...He went anyway.
While the people that tried to apprehend him may have been out of shape, they tried to just catch and hold him several times. The officer then said to halt or you will be tasered. He did not stop so he was tasered.
He was young and stupid...still no excuse for his behavior. No one knew his intentions. If he had harmed someone everyone would be yelling that the police did not respond/deal with it soon enough.
sure, there will be a lawsuit. anyone can sue anyone over anything. Let the kids parents waste some money on lawyers.
He will lose. He should accept he was stupid but stupid is not an excuse just an explanation.

Initially his father made some noise about a lawsuit but overnight the kid and family released a statement apologizing to everyone involved, including the police.
The Phillies have changed their policy about fan intrusions onto to field. Their own security staff will do all the 'chasing' and will 'ask' for police intevention only when they have exhausted their attempts. As soon as the individual is removed from the field he will then be turned over to police for handcuffing/arrest.

Suns have been fun to watch for as long as I can remember, your pathetic franchise can't even sell out a playoff game now that Shaq is gone and your terrible. Wade will stay in Miami most likely because he is all about the money, and they can pay him the most.
If you think Utah would have a chance against the Suns you really don't know anything about basketball other than what goes on with your crappy little team that wouldn't sniff the playoffs if they played in the west.
