TDS - do they 'feed' algae?

I know Phosphate/Nitrates feed algae, but do TDS's feed it also?
Is it possible to 0 phates and trates yet have a high TDS.
I have my tap water running through an API tap water filter and I get 0's but I never tested for TDS. Don't worry, I got a lot of good advise this past week and will purchase an RO/DI unit this weekend w/TDS meters.
Just my curiousity getting to me!
Thanks!

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) just means there is something in the water, the trick is finding out what it is. Then you can tell if it is feeding the algae. A lot of stuff, minerals for one wont effect algae, but are bad for other reasons.

i have a ro/di system and when i use my TDS meter it reads 0. WIth this said, and the water now being very clean, i have to scrape the glass all of about once every 3 days or so
