Looking on opinions on which 6x54watt retro lightning system would be better. Both have individual reflectors and are the same price. Any opinions?
Also will this be too much light for a 75gal reef 21" high?

I don't think that will be too much. I'd go with the Icecap retro, but there is no need to overdrive the bulbs since the tank isn't that deep. If you can swap the Icecap ballast for something like a Sylvania you'll be all set. You may also want to install some fans blowing the hot air out of the tank, not blowing cool air over the bulbs.

The tek2's reflectors are a little bigger than the icecaps...and from what I've heard may have a little more par, but size is usually an issue when dealing with these reflectors. The icecap slr reflectors are better than the original tek reflectors though, and that's what I went with, normally driven (without the icecap ballast). They are nice sized too.

actually, SLR are still the best retro reflectors.. the tek II was a wast.. they produce less par than the tek I .... they just spread the light out more.. but we need umph not distibution...
get the IC.. they are a lot better...
