I wouldnt say i'm irresponsible, but I have got Lazy! I still do water changes monthly (its hard to make myself do it). Along with cleaning equipment and such. I blame my 18 moth old baby---he just gets in the way (knocking over the buckets, tugging on the hose, etc.) And then when he naps, the last thing I want to do is mess with the tank! Its mommy time, not fishy time....but somehow I fit it in. Along with at least 50 or so NO'S!! :D

I usually test water once a month,,,but havn't done a water change in almost two years now...I do add trace elements to the tank weekly though....
Excelent filteration, oversized skimmer, lot's of live rock and sand, and low bioload equals a low maintenance tank!!!!!

With the exception of specific gravity I don't check the water at all anymore unless something doesn't appear right. Still do water changes about every 3 weeks but it normally takes about 3 hours of talking myself into starting it.

I usually check it when I notice the fish tapping on the glass holding tiny little suitcases.
Geeze! I give them free room and board and that's the thanks I get? Next thing you know, they'll want a second phone line!

Well I must admit I guess I am still anxious. I check mine daily. Boy is the lfs going to love me. Buying lots of refills.

Which LFS do you go to in Green Bay? I am down there every once in a while. I have been down to about 10 different ones. Everything in Green Bay is really expensive though.....as far as saltwater is concerned. One of the stores I was at wanted $9.99 per pound for live rock.
Advanced Aquariums, I think that is what it is, seems to be really expensive.
