It looks like tubes interchanged until it forms a ball, most of the rock is roundish. I really don't know the difference either. I paid $10.00 a pound. The "other stuff" was $7.00 a pound.
I had money and just wanted the "best"...Yeah they seen me coming.
It is all good. Just get what looks nice to your own eyes and just make sure your fish have hiding places and lots of ledges and a cave if you want a reef..
Pick pieces with lots of blue coraline…and try and get it without aiptasia or majano growing on it.

...or a ROCK ie HA HA hahaha.
sorry...i had to. I think smell is an important thing to. Make sure it doesnt have a rotting stench to it. It should smell Oceany. If that makes scense. Im have a couple tonga branch rocks in my tank and i really like the effect it creates.

hahaha. clever but cheesy lol.
i have my whole tank stocked with rock that i might sell but EVERYONE asks if its fiji.
i have no idea lol.

Cheezy is very under rated. Just now noticed you were in Omaha. If i were still in Lincoln I might consider buying some. Are there any Clubs there? You can often trade it for some pretty cool stuff too. Just a thought. If anything take lots of photos. I Dont put anything in my tank unless ive seen it first hand and if its rock painstakingly inspect it....at this point im probally making you very happy im not in NE anymore.
Good luck...

ND. I went to Lincoln for two years for school. Dated a guy In Omaha for awhile though so i was up there pretty much every weekend. Also have a really good friend who works at the Omaha zoo. I love that zoo. Really Miss Lincoln and Omaha.

Yeah, you'll hate it here. The beach, the warm weather, the women, the snorkeling, diving, and fishing, the women, the bikinis....
Mmmm...I think I'm going off on a tangent here.

Fiji rock is very porous and lighter. That is why it is usually more expensive. It provides excellent natural filtration.

i live in Lincoln and i've been looking for some sort of club or society or SOMETHING in this state and haven't been able to find anything.
Could you please tell me the name of that online club you mentioned?
