Our temperature is rising rapidly. What should we do to lower the temperature tank level?

What has changed? If this is a real emergency, take a two liter bottle of soda...rinse it, fill it with water, then freeze it. Float it in the tank after its frozen. This is only to be done if its a real emergency.
What has caused the temperature spike? If its a problem thats bound to re-occur, you may want to consider a chiller.

I have found a couple ways that work for me. I refridgerate my top-off water. I also keep fans blowing across the surface of my tank for evaporative cooling. I hear the ice thing mentioned also works well, but I have never had to get that drastic.

you can also try turning off your lights during the hot part of the day. have them on during early morning or late at night. for before the AC was fixed the lights were on 9pm to 3am.
if there is glass over the tank take the glass off so the heat can excape.
be careful about droping the temp to quickly.
How high is the temp?
