What is the Temp. Of your Reef..?? I'm just Curious i keep mine at 78 and everything does great! Just wondering what everyone else does to keep their reefs looking GREAT!

79 80 81 82 mostly, goes from 79 in the morning to 82 by early evening, my corals dont seem to mind i have lps sps and softies, zoos, polyps, and shrooms sometimes it does not fall or rise that much, but that is in general

You'll get a lot of opinions on this.. There was a long discussion on this several months ago where one poster (one of the mods I believe) posted some fiugres showing the average temp on reefs around the world was like 81.
Now, having said that, I just got back a couple of weeks ago from diving the north end of the Great barrier Reef and the temp was at 74-76.

So, like was said earlier, consistency is probably better than anything.

The general concept is, the temp should be the same as the natural environment of the livestock. Not to go below the highest low required parameter, and not above the lowest high requirement of any individual livestock.
The stability of the temp is most important.
Water may not feel warm to you but you're body temp is 98.6.

Mine is regularly 79-80 degrees. It is an open tank with the lights having fans to help move the temperature around. Lots of air movement in the room with ceiling fans also. My corals are loving life!!! :jumping:
