Is there a way you can tell? It is a 65 gal tank and Im pretty sure the bottom is tempered, are the sides normally tempered?
should I just try to get an HOB overflow box? How reliable are those? I dont feel like having a flood....
A lot of people have hob overflows and don't have floods...I have one for my 225g...no problems..(me crossing fingers) I think you just have to make sure you have the right pump pumping into the tank to match what the overflow is pulling out

so as long as the pumps are the same power then I should be alright?
or does the pump that is pumping water back up have to be a little more powerful because gravity is not on its side?
BTW what kind of over flow do have?
I have a pro-series filtration system...by Sealife...everything came together (sump, protein skimmer, overflows), and I bought the size return pump they suggested for my size tank (225g)
Besides that I have no clue...LOL....
