Temporary Tank

I am going to be doing some upgrading to my tank by adding more live rock, sand, a significant water change and some new air strips. Would it be a good idea to put my fish in a small temporary tank so they don't get to disturbed? If so, how big would it have to be for 4 small damsels?
My Fish Tank

Just a tip, i recently switched from CC to live sand, and i put everything (water, fish and rock) in a cheap 30 Gallon Rubbermaid Trash Can (it was like 8 bucks). I was able to put most of my water in the trash can and therefore did not need to due a massive water change and have to worry about throwing off my levels.

That sounds like a good idea. But how did you move everything into the rubbermaid--mainly the sand. But thanks I'll try that.

i just scooped the sand out with the net. just be careful not to pick it up by the end of the net or it will bend the whole net!! Pick it up near the actual net part. I've put all my rocks in my bathtub at some point and everything has been fine. I did that for a few hours only though. The trashcan sounds good though. Good luck

If you are just adding more sand you don't need to take the current sand out of the tank. If you want to take it out i suggest keeping it in a diffent container, so you don't cloud the water in the Rubbermaid where your fish are.
