Temp is already jumping to around 82 or so during the day, and it really gets hot here in MS. How can I get it down some without the expense of a chiller
Temps rising, any suggestions

Use a fan on the water surface. It will cause a lot of evaporation (be ready to do constant top-oofs) but it will bring the temp down considerably.

Need some more info. Are you using glass tops on your aquarium?
What kind of lighting system do you have?
I had the same problems too, but 82 degrees isn't too bad depending upon what you have in the tank.
It could be as simple as putting your lights up higher, but for me it was dumping the top covers. It ment more evaporation, but it eventually cooled the tank back down.

I've done the same thing and it works well. Why would where you live have anything to do with water temp..unless yo don't have A/C? Anything with a motor or pump can also heat things up. HOT filters, PHs , pumps, etc,etc. Also,though there is disagreement, 82 degrees doesn't worry me.

It was in the upper 80's here, but inside is a constant 68. I just keep it cold inside and let heaters do their job.

i let my temp go up to 85-86 with no probs....some may frown upon that..but i am comfortable with it on my tank...
but to answer your ??? a chiller is best but a fan blow on top is best bet and cheapest.

yeah the two liters work but only if you plan on putting it in the tank every hour or so.

82 degrees is not bad, but it's only April---I took the glass tops off,raised the MH lights 5 inches over surface and my temp (in southeast Virginia) still went to 86 a couple of weeks ago.
Since we didn't want to turn on the AC just yet I finally bit the bullet and got a chiller---temp now stays at 78 regardless of how warm the room gets.

And Payton 350 is right---unless you want to change the bottles every 2-3 hours 24/7 it just doesn't work during a hot summer.

Probably not so much where I live as it is seasons, we keep temps up in the summer to save on a/c and down in winter to save on heat. Dont have glass tops, but do have a hood. Will try fans at first. Thanks guys.

Big fans...
I used one of those $30 10 inch fans from Wal Mart. Had it come on the same time as my Halides.
I would not let my tank get much over 84 degrees. As the water gets warmer you start to lose the capacity to hold Oxygen. This can be detrimental.
