Tennis with John McEnroe!!!

I just got a call and will be playing in a Pro-Am for a "Senior" Tennis event being played here this weekend. Tomorrow I get to play doubles with and against the likes of John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Todd Martin, and Wayne Ferreira.

I play in a tennis league at the club where it is being played and have gotten to be friends with the Tennis Pro there, I had offered to have some of the guys out to the golf course where I am the Professional at (they are all golf fanatics), and now I'm in!
Not sure if I'm NERVOUS or excited!!!!! I guess both.
Starts at 4:30, hoping my wife can skip out of work a bit early and snap some photos. Mac and Courier are 2 of the All-time greats of the sport, it will be quite a thrill.

Duuuuddeee... you are a golf pro??!! I have a new respect for you. Can you help me with a severe slice?
BTW, congrats on playing tennis with those boys. Don't piss off McEnroe.

I did a Photo Shoot with Serena Wiliams and at a different time Boris Becker! Both great people! You will have a ball.. Enjoy it, Have fun and make sure its documented well.

LOL, 10+ years as a club pro, Class "A" PGA Professional since 2002 and yes I can help you with your slice.

Congrats! I'd bring a golf club with you to even the field ... just in case Johnny Mac gets out of control.

Should be a great time. Doesn't get much better then rubbing elbows with the all-stars.
BTW, I think you just made a good number of Betty's in Boca Raton, very excited!

Congrats; I am jealous!! I am a huge tennis fan and player. Living in Atlanta, Ga we play year round. I would love to have a chance to play with those guys, they still can spank the hell our of their serves and forehands especially Jim C.!!

I was a big fan of Mikel Pernfors whom lives in Atlanta now, he was supposed to play but pulled out with an injury.
I guess Mac is still very competitive in this league, he is roughly 10 years senior to Courier and Todd Martin, but just loves the competition.

Well it was a blast, I got to play with six of the 8 Pros (in order Karl Novecek, Todd Martin, McEnroe, Ferreira, Andres Jarryd, and Jimmy Arias) missed out on 2 (Courier, bummer, but I got to talk golf with him for a few minutes after, and Magnus Larson). They are all very nice in that environment, even Mac, though he lives up to his surly reputation. We rotate to different courts and play doubles with each of the 6 for 15 mins.
1st point with Mac, I drilled a volley at his feet that he that got a hearty cheer from the crowd of a few hundred and a sarcastic comment from John. My wife got their late from work, so only got a few pictures, and no good action shots, but here are a few.
1st pic with daughter and Jimmy Arias, who was a top 5 player that battled and still battles injuries....One of my all time favs and a super nice guy.
2nd a really bad pic with Todd Martin also super nice and very good golfer, 3rd with Wayne Ferreira, likely will win this event (as he is youngest at 37 and healthy) and formerly #3 in the world, a 3 handicap, we may play golf on Monday. Fourth is just me.
