i don't think the tv show has anything to do with this movie. it's time frame is all messed up, but did you notice at the season (show) finale reese didn't even know who connor was, IE since he jumped in time there was no connor with the resistance?
i'd bet that we'll start seeing the advanced terminators in the upcoming movies. maybe marcus was just an advanced arnold terminator (cyborg with skin and organs)
I think marcus found reese on accident and since cybordyne was monitering everything marcus did, they captured reese to set the trap. They only singled him out after john had the conversation with marcus about reese.

oh, definitely a sequel. otherwise he wouldn't have his mother's stuff, he wouldn't "know" the enemy, wouldnt know reese was his father, etc.

one other thing i didn't like: they blew up, what 4 or 5?, power sources, each one was nuclear. How come the electromagnetic field didn't knock out their helicopter...how come they even survived being above the facility as 4 nuc's went off...

I'm thinking their was only partial detonation of the nuclear material. That is the trick in building a nuke anyway. (NSA spies, we are talking about terminator, although I am a conservative who believes in the militia so according to janet I am a high risk target)
Personally I would think the gap would be that the explosion ignited the power cells. Not that it wasn't bigger.

Dont get me wrong I loved watching it but there seems to be holes all throughout this film and either I have no clue onto whats been happening in all the films or someone got a little lazy. I hope some questions get answeres soon. Oh well as one of my co-workers told me as we discussed the film....."Dude, its just a movie"

ok, i just watched T3 again. my eyes have stopped bleeding, goodness that was a horrible movie.
but it was skynet that dropped the bombs, and it was in 2004, when john was 23. and cyberdyne was destroyed in t2 according to t3, so how did it come back? they don't say how old john is in salvation, but the year was 2017 no? Marcus was sentenced to death in 2003, so that sorta fits the timeline of the human race still around, but it took them 14 years to make his technology? and the war is still going on...
ehh, i guess spiney's right, it's jsut a movie...

lol... This is what my co-worker an I were arguing about. And what you say as well as my co-worker makes sense. However, why didnt cyberdyne just kill reese when they had the chance. When Marcus found Reese he was just wandering around clueless, and if cyberdyne knew he was going to find reese why didnt they just send one of those big azz jets over to bomb the hell out of reese, then it would be all over, John would not exist. Right? I guess if that happened there wouldnt be 2 more films to suck our money out of pockets, damn those computers are smart!

I cant remember either, but if he did tell Marcus the machines would have had to kill Reese for sure.... right away.

I don't get how he didn't know what was happening. They made a deal about having a real "heart" but they didn't take over his brain? What is the point of a machine with a human brain, that they can't control? I think that was what bothered me.
