Tessalata Eel won't eat???

We have a Tessalata Eel here in our office. We started him out in a 55 gallan hexagon tank and he seemed to me happy and healthy and always eager to eat. He seems to have very poor eyesight so he has always been hand feed. We moved him to a 75 gallon rectangular tank just about 6 weeks ago and he has refused to eat anything since being put in this new tank.
Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Also, ensure that water quality is in order. You may try to use a turkey baster to wave a bit of food at him.
What are you feeding the eel?

Beth...we used to feed him shrimp or silversides but he won't take any of it anymore. All is good with the water in the tank. He has always been hand fed because the lion fish he used to be in with was too quick for him to get any food. He seems to be active and happy. He will come up to the food but then he will rub himself against it and then turn away from it.

Try giving him a new food and use a feeding syringe or turkey baster to see if he will get food from it rather than the hand feed.
