tessalota

all right i am hell bent on getting an eel for my tank other than a snow flake or a chain link. what i really want to do is get a tessalata. i know, i know (YOUR TANK CANT SUPPORT THAT EEL ) im not planing on keeping him for life. eels are slow growers. so if i buy him when he is small i think it should be fine for a few years. my question is what could i put him with? bear in mind he will be a juve not an adult. i was thinking along the lines of a trigger, lion, maybe a grouper or two? any insight is very helful! <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

What size tank do you have? We just had a convo about tessy's here, check it out. IMO, they do best by themselves. If you wnt to try another fish with them, large groupers are triggers is what I'd do. I can remember a member (Skirk I believe) saying his black volitan was swallowed by a tesselata. If you want a different eel, look into goldentails and mexican dragons. Bo

grouper head, have 75 i just want some thing that will not think twice about devowering a gold fish. thats the only attraction for me since im doing an adressive. i dont want to have some of my fish on shrimp and some on gold fish. so what would you say i do. really dont wasnt some thing that will eat a lion but it has to some what aggresive. i really dont want to be limited but what do you think? i also dont want to spend any more than 50 to 100 on an eel.

go with the goldentail or mexican dragon. tessalota is a beautiful moray but you will probably get attached to a fish youve grown and kept for a couple years. and if you cant upgrade to a bigger tank the moray will just be suffering
