Test for nitrates

Is there a better test for nitrates than the chemicals? I mean is there a digital meter that tells what the value is instead of guessing what color the water is?

I don't believe there is a digital test. Have to do the chemical tests for now.

trate test is easy, wait until you start doing ca and alk!
1 drop...shake, one drop...shake

Thanks for the replys, I bought a new test kit yesterday and the results are much better.....I'm throwing the old one away
