test kiits

Are there test packages out there that have everything I need for complete water testing for like one price. If so what do you recommend.

Yeah, salifert sells one (pricy, but very good quality)...it's called a 'master test kit' i believe. I think red sea also sells one too. In all likelihood though you'll decide you want a few tests that aren't in the master kits with time...they're a good base though! Try to get something at least with ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and ph.

yes make sure you get those basic ones, i bought a kit from wal-mart when i was first starting that only has freshwater pH, saltwater pH, ammonia, nitrites, and general hardness...I was shocked they didn't have nitrates in the kit after I got into the hobby more!

An excellent master kit that does all the basics such as ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH is made by FasTest. It is reliable, but kinda expensive. But the nice part is that it is refillable, and simple to use.

I would suggest individual tests from Salifert....they are readily available/relatively in-expensive...and accurate. Salifert does make a large kit with numerous tests...but I prefer the individual kits myself.
