I usually hesitate to post photos to forums because I don't want to bore people with them but I realized that I enjoy looking at everyone else's so much that perhaps it's not "boring". I don't have anything exciting to show yet but I am experimenting with how to post in the event I get something worth sharing. Bear with me!

Whoohoo - I think it worked! Two questions: can you see both the pic of the new tank and the baby turtle photo in the avatar? The reason I ask is because when I tried to change my avatar and add that photo it told me the action failed, yet I can see it.... wondering if everyone else just sees a red "X" instead.
Second question: I bought more live rock yesterday and of course that meant I had to totally re-aquascape the tank (do we EVER get it just the way we want it?!?!?). I finally gave up about 3:00 a.m. and went to bed and this morning I'm thinking it's not half bad, except maybe the branch rock on the right.
Thoughts and opinions, even brutally honest, are appreciated.
Sue

Looks good, you may want to remove the rock from resting on the glass though, it tends to make it very diffucult to clean. I like the different rock you have, lots of variety.

Thanks for the feedback. I've rearranged them slightly (surprise, surprise) and even though the modifications are slight, I like them. Not only do I have a little less rock leaning on the glass but all the rock is much more stable now. It would take a lot for any of them to tumble or collapse. Thanks for the advice about trying to keep rock off the sides - I can see how it's going to be a problem for me to clean but it's also a real problem to have 18 lbs. of rock in a 12 gallon tank. Quite the "scaping" challenge. Maybe I'll get lucky and my snails and crabs will keep the place spotless for me so it will never be an issue. Yes, I believe in Santa Claus, too. LOL Here's the modification..... for now.

Looks good. I would give the tank a little shake to see if that rock you moved to the left is stable enough.... but then again I live in earthquake country.

Love the tonga branches!! Looks good. Should be up and going in no time. My 12 gallon Aquapod cycled in just about 2 weeks. Hang in there.

Looking good so far!! I would try to keep as much of your rock from your walls as much as possible, only because your tank is acrylic, if anything falls it will leave a nice scratch in the wall!! Also it will be much easier to clean your tanks walls. The branches are great, and you will have alot of fun "decorating" them I am sure. Do you still have the stock lighting in there? If it is the 13watt 50/50 you may want to consider upgrading and then retrofitting the hood a little.
Good luck!!

You're right - I've already seen tiny nicks and scratches on the inside of the acrylic just from my aquascaping efforts. And yes, I am using the 50/50 light that came with the kit. I have a feeling that this is just my "starter tank" and come winter I will be putting a larger set-up on my Christmas list . . . this can then become my quarantine tank. Thanks for the feedback!

cool, sounds like you have it planned out! I upgraded to a Nova etxreme t5 HO 36 watt 50/50, drilled my hood a little, and now have a great lighting system that will support many corals for around 70 bucks. Not too bad, and an easy job if you ever consider it.
