11:00 snack?
Ok,went to bed about 10:30 and the ole man came in at 11 saying he thinks the cc star is eating one of the snails..got up and lo and behold he was right.the star was on the sand and the snail underneth him.After taking out the snail,found out that the cc did infact eat the snail....WHY? I have a fo with ls and feed the star a piece of shrimp every few days.Water test came out fine as of tuesday evening. so now do I have to worry about the other snails? please help!!!!
ok...just did water tests and this is what i came up with
ph 8.0 (i know alittle low) ammon 0- 0.25 alk normal trites 0.2 and trates 20ppms.......if this helps any.....:help: :help:

Yes, you should be worried about your other snails. I spot feed mine and he still eats the clean up crew. Do a search on my user name and type in cc star. My star is a DEVIL. He ate my entire clean up crew in a matter of a week. i had at least 30 snails. you could try trochus snails, they are harder for the cc stars to pull off of the glass, and rock. I also currently have 3 HUGE snails. they are the size of the palm of my hand. they are just to big for my star to pull off of the glass. Do a search and read some of my stars crazy stories. If this is a reef tank, I would take the star out, because he really isn't reef safe. You levels are probably fine. i have actually watched my sanil climb the glass, climb over the snail. Pull it off of the glass, and then flip it over and eat it.

thanx leapord babe...my tank has no lr or reef...but i will do a search after work......
maybe i can put him in a 20 gal. again thanx alot!:D

Your welcome. I just thought that I would let you know that this is not out of the ordinary, because it happens to be everyday. Now that I have tricked him, he has a hard time eating my snails.
