texas holey rock

Has any one heard of texas holey rock ? If so is it ok for reef tank?

I have several pieces of it at the bottom of my 150. It works great as a base to set my LR on.

Thanks I just got it with a freash water tank and the guy said the 3 rocks I got were over 100.00.They are great looking rocks I really dont wont to use them for base rock but I did wont to make sure they were reef safe . I am trying to post picture of them but not been able to yet . I am not good at this yet.I went To photobucket but still can not get it to work.

Sorry i give up on the pictures for now but they are really pretty rock.

It is commonly used as base rock and is fine. However it is often not particularly porous.

Wow he paid that much for it? I got mine in a Tx quarry for 6 cents a lb

Ophuira is correct though, most of it is not very porous, but makes good base rock. I wouldn't use it exclusively, you will want to us some good LR also.

Even at an LFS here they are usually only $1/lb or so at most. But then, it is Houston, and it is probably some local guy delivering it right to the LFS
