lol I am going to pick one up just to see how they work. I am not sure if I can use it due to the fact the nozzles are only about 1'' under the water surface. They dont have super pressure but I think it would be enough to blow the water over the side of the tank. But it is still worth looking into. If it works that would be great. So worth the few bucks they cost to find out.

the hydor flo units do cut the flow down a bit. if you already have low flow, you might try eductors instead.

I looked them up. The only ones I could find made out of plastic were about 50 bucks a pop total 200 before shipping. For that I will wait and see what the HYDOR flo dose. Because for 300 I can get my t5 retro. Well today is payday
going to get more rock tonight. I will update

Well got the live rock in the tank last night. It is not cured but I figure it can cure in the tank and get the cycle going boy was I right amonia is if the charts my test kit only goes to .8 and this is way higher than that. If I had to guess I would say more like 2.0. Dont know if thats good or bad. Should I do a water change or just let it cycle. Also a couple of the rock have coral mostly dead but one piece is very alive. Will it survive ???? here are some pics

Whats the total lbs. of live rock so far ? I think your tank set up is awesome ( You know its because great minds think alike and its just like mine. ) Actually to admit it Mr. X guided me through the building of mine and I would have probably screwed the whole thing up if it weren't for him. I'm thinking that you should mix up your rock design. They are all similiar shaped rocks and seem as if they are set in a brick layered type pattern. I know you have awesome knowledge and I'm not trying ro be negative, but I would stack them differantly. Awesome tank !

Its 70 lbs of rock in my 55. And I do plan on changing the aquascape a bit. Just not to sure what I want to do yet. I think I will get a few more smallre rocks to add. And MR X help me on this bigtime. Thanks the coral in the tank is starting to get more color on it. A few poylops were white and looked dead. But they are turning red again. I dont have a light in there yet. Just some T8 light fixture that came with the tank. I have no idea what kind it is or the bulb. But even one of the clams that came on the rock is starting to open kind of. He will crack it open then slam shut again. The amonia is still through the roof. I dont know if I should do a water change or just leave it be and let it cycle

You should do a water change. When cycling you should keep the temperature, lights and flow as if it were up and running. Most suggest water changes every few days during this period. What could it hurt ?

I just did a 25% water change. Tested the water again amonia is not is dark but still so high I have no idea what it is. I guess I will need to do another one.

Anyone have any idea what kind of coral that is in tthe pic above. After I did the water change he started reaching out with these little hair like arms. I think he is hungry. What do I feed him so far my ph 8.3 calcium 440 ppm SG 1.024 temp 78-76.

Ok guys so cycle day 4. Amonia still through the roof but is comming down a little. I have noticed a few hitch hikers. However there is one rock that has hundreds of what I think are glass anenomes. There are very small and in almost every hole of the rock. I would boil it and just let the tank reseed it. But it the rock the corals came on
. So far the coral is doing ok. I notice a bunch of sponges in there. And some white spiderweb looking stuf
. The plants are good actually getting bigger.

I need someone to help here. I just did a 65% water change amonia is .80 and holding. I took a chizzle to the corals on the one rock with all the glass anenomes on it. There must have been hundreds of them. But boiled the rock for 3 hours. They are dead now. I know I will get slapped for that but I will take it. If there was anything left alive on it it could not make it out of the pores with all of the anenomes in them.the corals are still doing good. thats what I am asking help for. I need someone to take care of them. The lfs refused to do it and for that they will get no more bisness from me. SWF however will I know they wont take them either. But someone on here will. I will pay for shipping and all that. If they die its my problem. All I ask for is sell me a frag back. They are stonies (not sure what kind but I have a pic up). I just want them to live. They were the first corals I got and I will do what it takes to let them live. I dont have the set up yet. When I do I will buy a frag back. And pay for it. Please help they are doing good so far but cant live forever in my tank.

If you want to pay for the shipping I'll put them in my tank. When you get yours straightened then you pay for the shipping back to you. Just let me know.

10/4 thank like I said its the first corals I got so if they live cool if not it is what it is. My email is robertmathernbobman@yahoo.com send me something. It will be a week just to make sue I dont send you glass ananome. That would not be cool. But I would like it if you did like I said if they die they die they had no chance with me. I will have to wait till tax return time to get them back. But thats about when the tank will be ready. Let me know. And thanks man

Thats cool but I am a shipping manager where I work so shipping is free for me. But I will still pay to be a pita for who ever is willing to take take them. Also Like i said I will wait to make sure I send you nothing bad. There was a anenomie in between the 2 corals I had. All I did was take a chizzle and a hammer to them but got them off clean. 1 Has a little die off was there when I got it. It came back alot but will not recover fully. But Ilovemytank has given me alot of good info along the way I trust him. And Like I said keep the coral just sent me a frag of it. Its not pretty just cool to me.

Thats why I put it on here. SWF got alot of the fish I wantand the LFS has about the same prices so I am sold now. The lfs did not want to help me so
