My question...i know RO/DI turn the water so its really just H2O and thats it really, Will this fanially end my struggle with cyano?

alot of factors play a role in alage, lights, water... the main thing here is too find the source of phosphates..
what lights do you use, how long are they on for, is the tank by a window, how often do you feed, how much do you feed, how big is your bio load, and finally the big question..... do you run a dsb?

What is a DSB? Some kind of sand bed? I am also battling Cyano in my 90 gallon. Just little patches but it (and something else?) are killing my zoo's. Everything else in the tank is jamming right along. I am running 4-VHO's for lighting and I just decreased the amount of time they are on to around 8 1/2 hours. They were on 10 1/2.

dsb=deep sand bed
you water flow may also be the problem, i got rid of my cyano by decreasing hours of light and directing more flow toward the cyano.
good luck
