After experimenting with several types I actually prefer the hitchhiking Stomatella snails. They will reproduce and regulate your own population. You never have to buy new snails! You might try getting some from someone else. I have had many of my other snails get slowly killed off by a few rogue hermit crabs.

Only 3 or 4 turbos for a 75 gallon? No way! I have a dozen for a 45 gallon and I would get more. There's always something for them to eat and they keep the tank sparkling. I would recommend like 20 turbo snails...:happyfish

Its a dang good thing kip doesn't get paid for use of that thread!!! It is full of useful info...check it out.
I keep an assortment of snails...astrea/turbos/cerith/nassarius/stomatella/fighting conch...just a estimate in my 100 display would be 50-60...as long as hey have a food source they should do fine. I also keep 20 or so scarlet hermits and there are deaths now and then. Normally I suppliment my snail collection about every 5-6 months.
