The biggest wuss in sports... Paul Pierce?

Did Paul Pierce take the title away from Dwayne Wade last night by writhing in pain from his "greusome injury" and then coming back like nothing happened. I loved Phil Jackson's comments after the game about "stubbing his toe" or whatever else he likened it to. Too funny.

Carmelo Anthony may still get the title for his throwing a sucker punch and then basically running away from him, (I forgot who was on the other side of the punch).
Are there any other wusses in contention?

Nobody else thinks Paul Pierce is a wuss??? Anybody here play sports? Have you ever sprained a knee?

I tore my MCL and didn't put up such a performance like Pierce. But I can also say that I've dislocated joints and didn't get wheeled off the field of play like D. Wade. Maybe I'm just super tough.

Or "The Mask"
I will agree though, Pierce's acting was a bit much. I have 'twisted' my knee in football, needed 15mins to walk it off. No way if he actually sprained it, he would be back in the game. I also severly sprained (rolled) my ankle though (to the point of severing bruising). I couldn't walk on it for a week.

I heard about the "flop"
It's possible the knee was actually hurt pretty bad and just went numb on him. He may be hobbled for the rest of the finals. If he comes back fine next game they should give him an Oscar.

he is always on the ground... he whines about everything... and just doesnt quite fit that "bad boy" image that is Detroit...

I have no problem with a little acting. I do have a problem with people who don't play balls out. And that is why I think the biggest wuss in sports in Alex Rodrigez.

I agree with you as far as acting. Every player in the league (except Brent Barry) tries to draw fouls and I don't have a problem with it. There is at least one flopper on every team. My idea of a wuss is the guy who cries like a little girl when he gets a paper cut. These are big, bad athletes... I just cannot fathom how someone needs to be carried off the court for a shoulder injury, or acts like he's been decapitated for a knee sprain. Come on guys... toughen up.

I'm not saying he isn't, the extent I follow basket ball is I know that the lakers and Celtics are in the finals. So I don't know about said player. And I watched MJ play once when he was on the bullets. Whatever happened to the bullets anyway, that was a cool name.

The acting is the part of basketball that is really holding me back from becoming a bigger fan. I can not stand to watch soccer because of this, and why I love football so much. The wide reciever or cornerback can fake interference, or whine all they want, but the ref has made up his mind on the call. Though I guess contact sport athletes and non-contact sports athletes are different breeds anyways.

Biggest wusses in all of sports are the unmotivated, underachieving, never show up when needed the most, braves of basketball Detroit Pistons! At least D-Wade had the most serious level of a dislocated shoulder you could get. p.s. SOON the whole team to be dismantled as well!

Pierce got stabbed dood. I think he knows what pain is. Who cares if he's OD "over dramatic" Celtics are going to crush Kobe... notice I didn't say Lakers, because we all know that it's a one man crap show in LA.

Miami... you HAVE to admit... I know you love the heat, you know I love the Pistons. It's all good. But you have to admit that to be carried off the court from a dislocated shoulder is pretty weak. I mean come on... what was wrong with his legs?
I have had my share of injuries... when I separated my shoulder, nobody was offering to carry me down the mountain. Nobody cameras were on me when I dislocated my elbow, broke my ankle or tore my MCL.
In a moment of true honesty and objectivity, aren't you a bit ashamed of D. Wade being carried off the court? If you admit this then I'll admit that I was ready to throw my TV through the window during the 4th quarter of game 6 - Detroit, Boston. I can admit that the next day I was ready for the whole team to be dismantled. Still am ready for half the team to go...

Honestly I thought of you when this happened last night Crimzy
I couldn't help but remember the D Wade wheelchair incident.
Yeah, pathetic!! A wheelchair!!
It made me a little sick to my stomach when the crowd got excited when he came back...What was he trying to be Willis Reed!!! I bet K.G was even a little embarrased.
Pathetic...Go Lakers.
Oh, and I broke my wrist playing football in high school, I stayed in 3 more plays, and didn't need a wheelchair.
