I'm really curious to know - what does the rest of the U.S. think of us Californians? It seems like whenever i interact with people out of state, they give me weird looks... then I tell them I'm from california and they nod their heads like "oh yeah, that must be it."

Now is it's just me? Am I contributing to a stereotype or does the rest of the U.S. actually think Californians are weird?
Example: some californians are considered to be hippies...
but what else?
I've gotten that too... lol
Not all of CA is full of weirdos, gays and hippies... San Francisco is though! omg.... I have seen some of the craziest characters in the city. haha I live in the suburbs where most
of the people are pretty normal.

People associate San Fransisco with gays but I heard Laguna Beach and West Hollyweird both had more gays.
Had a Lesbian neighbor in Montana who was great. I would have no issue having a gay neighbor if they conducted themselves like she did.

what kills the image of everyone from cali are the celebs that you see being a jack-hole all the time on the tube. also it doesn't help much that you all look at everyone else as "those damn easterners".

Is California also known as the "Sue Me" State? I just read an article where some Asian woman is suing Miley Cyrus for $4 billion because of that stupid picture that leaked showing her and a bunch of her friends pulling their eyes back. Apparently she wants $4,000 for each of the 1 million Asian Pacific Islanders who live in Los Angeles County. Can we just get The Big One over with and drop all these blood-sucking lawyers into the Pacific where they belong?

Ask a OTR driver what they think of the Cailfornia Air Resources Board and be ready for your ears to get BURNED OFF. Why is it that a state that has deserts that are over 100 degrees will not allow a driver that has to LIVE in his rig to run his engine to Stay ALIVE. Isn't a BIOHAZARD cleanup worse than the emisssions than that would be. If your rig is older than now a 2001 YOU CAN NOT EVEN run it in CA now. Yet they are screaming that there are no trucks that will pull the fruits out of the orchards HOW CAN THEY the state just banned the rigs that did it. Now the state wants to require all locomotives on the RR's that come into that state have APU's that way if they idle more than 5 mins they can be shut down. YET the state is so freaking broke that it has one full year of buidget bills it can not even PAY.

Californians are douchebags, for the most part. I live in upstae NY and I can tell you most New Yorkers are douchebags too. The southeast is where to live, except Atlanta

Californians are spinning their wheels. Their oranges SUCK!
We had a couple orange trees on the balcony of our old apt. The key to good Ca oranges is to let them ripen on the tree. Can't do that if they are being shipped to Wisconsin, though. Orange roasted potatoes are AWESOME!

I love it here in the northwest. All we really have is hippies. And they're generally VERY easy to get along with. All you have to do is NOT cut a tree down in front of them, and everything is peachy! I have ZERO plans or desires to leave the pacific NW. A straight shot to Canada, a beautiful ocean, easy access to Hawaii, GREAT wages here in WA state, and where I live, the cost of living is unbelievably low compared to the rest of the coastal regions.
If I were to relocate, it would probably be to somewhere other than the US, but not because I don't like it, just for some adventure.

I live an hour away from Tahoe and it is really nice climate wise. I grew up here with and lived in San Francisco for awhile. N California is very different than S California, but it is not better or worse. Yes people live up to stereotypes but that is the minority and unfortunately they are the ones that get the most attention. BTW I am not a tree hugger, hippie, doper, surfer, wino, or snob. I am just your typical tattooed, pierced freak.
