The ecosystem reefugium

I was wondering if anybody has ever used the ecosystems reefugium (And know I didn't spell it wrong thats what its called)? It seems kind of pricey but I heard that it keeps your water crystal clear. It uses that miracle mud stuff for substrate. Is this thing just a scam or does it realy work good? Its like $350. Does it do just as good as any other refugium?

Waste of money. Basically you're buying dirt from some guys back yard. I ran a ecosystem with the "miracle Mud" and I got rid of it. Waste of time, and a nutrient sink. There is no substitute for water changes, maintenance, and good filtration.

Sounded kind of exspensive for a refugium.

I'm using the miracle mud system and have been very happy with it. I saved on the cost by buying a 30gal glass tank and added acrylic dividers to it. If you e-mail ecosystem they will mail you out a drawing on how to build your own. I then just had to buy the mud. Their support is great - all questions during my setup got answered very promptly.
