The Emerald Crab... reef safe?

I was just wondering if The Emerald Crab was considerd reef safe? If so I wanted to make one part of my cuc. tx guys.

They only eat green algae, I leave the back glass covered in algae for my critters to graze on. An emerald will sarve in a clean tank. So if you run out of algae be sure to use those dried algae strips you put on a clip for them.

i once had four and they were all reef safe, but my reef safe niger trigger loved to eat them. They also got rid of that ugly green bubble algae

I've always heard that they were reef safe, but mine always ate my coraline algae. We couldn't figure out why our coraline was disappearing and then found an emerald munching away on it one day. Has any one else had this happen? Sorry to steal your post, we're new here and don't know how to make our own yet.

mine hasn't eaten coraline at all i dont think. i have 2 in my 36gallon and they are very cool and help keep my tank clean.

Was he starving?
I actually think I have a mynthryl (I'm sure I misspelled it) crab with black tips on his pinchers and they are "pests" but never hurt anything. I see him maybe once a month so I let him stay in there.
