i really hate to ask this ? but with all the post about lights lately has me thinking.. the guy at lfs where i bought my pc's said that they say 110 but are actually double that power. is this true ? do i have sufficient lighting for my tank? my corals are doing good, i was just wondering, thanks.

If the box says 110 watts then they are only 110 watts not twice that like the lfs guy is telling you. You are running a little more then two watts per gallon. I would think about getting one more strip depending on what type of corals you are planning on doing. But if you are going low light corals you should be fine though.

If they say 110w then their 110w thats their power usage. What he was probably thinking about was light output. PC's put out more light per watt than VHO's or NO's. But in stating it the way he did its obvious he doesn't understand the difference himself, and I would be warey of his advice about lighting. This is not an uncommon problem when dealing with LFS personel.

thats a bummer because a guy at another pet store also said the same thing.. man i paid big bucks for that, i cant fit another light on my tank with the one that is on there.. guess i will have to wait until i have the funds again.
