Well here it is..... in all its glory!

What should I use to clean the inside of the tank?

Im thinking im going to have to re seal this but in so scared that im going to either make it worse or get silicone all over the glass like I did on my old 55 gal.

So it has started. So should I start start working a second job now?

what are the dimensions on it? and only if you want it done any time soon.

oh and as for the seam you will be better off resealing it by the looks of it. just do some research and then go for it

also I forgot. I have read that some recommend using vinegar or PH down to rid of the coralline algae

Well after I ate I totally forgot about pictures....
well in the mean time I got Two 4' True Actinic bulbs, Water proof end caps, Wiring, and Ice Cap 660 Ballast w/ heat sink. $180.00 for that. I felt stupid because i went to pick them up and the reflectors were not with my lights and when I asked they told me that they were not included. So now I must find 4' reflectors.
Also...
If im running two 250w 10,000k Metal Halides would it be better to run more VHOs? or would it be over kill? I was told I could run more bulbs off of that ballast.
and....
are Coralife skimmers any good?

I also have a 48x24x24 120g tank and it's a lot of fun to have.
Go with an ASM skimmer... they're a good price for the quality you get and are comparable to the far more expensive Euro-Reef skimmers. I have an ASM g3 in there... it works awesome.
Also, I'm running two 10,000k 250w HQI's as well and have 48" actinic supplement T5's... it's perfect for me.

If it's the one for sale on that online marketplace some call e-b-a-y then please be very careful... that seller has a feedback of 4 which is very low.... my feedback rating is 158 with 100% positive. Someone with such a low rating would probably take your money and never send you the skimmer. It happens all the time.

Okay, so, its been awhile due to some trouble issues I had to hold off setting up my tank. I knew I was moving within the year so I didn't want to set it up and have to tear it right back down. Since I am getting ready to move now I have been getting ready to set up my 120 Reef Ready in my new place.
First thing I am doing is setting up my quarantine tank.
29 gal.
It is going to be bare bottom
Painted bottom, sides and back, black
Emperor 400
PVC Hide-outs
I am getting me RO/DI system in the mail soon along with my refractometer.
I had a few questions,
Should I keep live rock in the tank and if so how much?
Should I run a skimmer?
Do I need a specific type of light? I have a normal freshwater light strip should I get the saltwater bulbs or stay with normal fluorescent?
Also I planned on cycling with ammonia, same as I did with all my freshwater. How do I keep the tank cycled once I set up my main tank and remove the fish from quarantine and place them into the main? Can I just run the quarantine all the time just leave a fish or something in there to keep the cycle going?

Also, I don't have any big wants in the way of fish mainly inverts. So take a look at this and any suggestions would be great. I will take suggestions on fish to add as well as long as it does not conflict with what I already want.
Fish:
Powder Blue Tang
Scooter Blenny
Maybe, Pair of False Perc Clowns, and Yellow Tang

re-sealing a tank is actually fairly easy. just make sure you silicone it from the inside NOT the outside

Thanks for that info. lol. When I paint the sides and back, do I paint the inside of the tank or outside?

I'm sure there is someone out there who has actually painted the inside of there tank.
I only said sides because I am painting the back, sides, and bottom of my quarantine tank to help reduce any stress of new inhabitants.
Refractometer coming in the mail, and so is my Ro/Di. Ah, I can't wait this project has taken entirely to long.
