hello fellow tank mates? i just setting up my first saltwater tank and it looks like its something from the movie the mist! so my question being, does it supposed to look like this after you put the live sand in? it seems like its clearing up but just curious you know!
yes thats perfectly normal in a couple hours sometimes days it will be clear again have fun waiting for the cycle!
what size tank is it? what all equipment do you have? and what do you plan or want to put in it?
*edit* rs1831 beat me
its a 10 gallon tank. with:
13 lbs. LR
about 12 lbs. LS
small power head
aqua clear filter planning to uprade later on
heater
i bought a PC light but they sent me just the bulbs so i have to get the fixture.
I plan to have it as a FOWLR for right now but maybe in a few months get some hard corals. as far as fish maybe a couple of perculias and a jawfish. but it could change dont know yet im just focused on cycling right now.

This is normal. I always put in a few ph's to speed along the process.
what do you mean by ph"s?
wow...looking at that pic, I would never have thought it to be a 10 gal.
But yes, keep it stirred. The cloudiness will settle soon. And don't add any livestock anytime soon.

My 20 gallon looks smaller than that, Are you sure you didnt mean 100 gallon?
Based on his/her lr and ls and only one ph, it probably is only a 10 gal.
But very nice pic

doesnt look like a 100 gallon to me maybe a 20-30.. lol what is the instant ocean thing in the pic? also notice the little container more left
Something's fishy here....
So if your fixture has not arrived, what's lighting up the tank in the pic?
the instant ocean box is the salt mix which mixes 25 gallons, and the container on the left is a measuring cup. as for the light in the picture it is an old regular flourecent 36 inch fixture im using for now. that thing hangs like 8 inches on each side.
i dont have a peasuring tape but but its something like 20x12x10 i think not sure though! well it finally cleared up! actually by the next morning water was crystal clear.
