I used to have the most beautiful black clownfish I've ever seen. It was pure coal black with no yellow on it's fins, just a beautiful bright yellow around it's mouth, and the lines on it weren't slanted like on most black clowns I've seen, they were straight like those on a true percula and clearly defined. Since I started a new tank up about 5 months ago, I have been searching for one just like her, but the place I bought her from closed long ago and the places I have searched, even on the internet, show me ones with slanted lines and yellow fins. Please tell me if you know anything, such as species (I always thought it was a black percula, because it was an exact replica of a true percula, except black) or someplace I could get a few, because I am considering getting a pair of clowns, perc or maroon, black is forerunner if I can find some good ones, and letting them be just about the only fish in the tank, with the exception, perhaps, of a small goby or a gramma.
Please tell me if you have any black clownfish that look how I described and where you got them so I can perhaps get a few.

I think it may have been a black/white ocellaris clown. They are often named black perculas, but the species name is Amphiprion ocellaris. This site has them, but almost always out of stock, they aren't easy to come by. https://www.saltwaterfish.com/site_11...ot_parent_id=4
The clown in that pic is fairly young, and the color would darken as they age. As for other sources, I cannot name internet stores because of competition with this site.

As far as I know true percs are the ones with funny shaped line and thick black. False percs are normaly straighter with no black outline

oceania, have you seen what most black clowns look like? Their lines are slanted like this / / / What I mean by straight is that the top and bottom of the stripe line up vertically, like on percs and false percs, which are so similar in almost every way that it doesn't matter which is which, I've seen false with the bulge at the middle as well as true, and most of the ones with that gorgeous black outline that I've seen have been true.

btw, kaotik, thanks for the input but So Cal is a bit far off, anyone who lives in the Southeast? (sorry, my fault, I didn't bother to mention vicinity, which won't matter too much if it's online)
