The movie "W."

Just got done watching this with the wifey (netflix rental) and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a left beating and it wasn't protectionist right, but rather a pretty fair assessment IMO. In fact it almost made me like him a little more in some ways, while realizing that he was an idiot when it came to getting people to work for him. It probably has the effect of lessening the hate from the left and the love from the right to give a more even take (And, as many of you know, I'm not a big fan).
Obviously it is a fiction based on true events, but as an overall view of his life, what did you think?
(I swear there was a thread about this already but i couldn't find it)

6 months from now I would probably watch it. All the media lies and exaggerations about W will have worn off by then but for now I am still sick of their BS about him and couldn't give the movie a fair chance. It sounds about like Primary colors which exaggerated events with Clinton but that movie was meant to be a comedy. Isn't W a drama?

I think it was meant to be a drama/comedy sort of flick. At times you laugh at him, at times you feel sorry for the guy.

i love netflix...so would you recommend it ?
I would recommend it. Definitely rent it rather than buy it as I feel it has no repeat value.
Like I said, if the story is true (at least mostly) to reality, it will make people like me who didn't think he was that great of a prez to like him more, but it might make his hard core supporters like him a little less (I don't know, I'm just guessing). The one thing it will do is make you hate Chenney and love Powell, but I think most people feel this way already....
I'm interested to see what some republicans think about it in regard to fairness, etc.

Or hold a town hall meeting in Europe and mainly take questions from Americans.
Or Agree to spend money to fix other countries' economies even though those same countries refuse to help and send more troops to afghanistan with us.
Or fire the CEO of a car company but not Fire the CEO of the company that used our tax dollars to pay bonuses because that company gave him a lot of campaign money........
wow,.....I need to stop...
