Maybe because there's sections of the Canadian border where the only evidence there is an actual border between Canada and the US is a street sign that says it? Think maybe after all these current terror threats that happened this last week, they may be a little concerned these Al Qaeda operatives could stroll over here with little or no effort?

You talk to most Canadians, they have no desire to come over here to live. They have it too good where they're at.

Would it make more sense to expand the border patrol numbers rather than take from one border for the other? especially since none of them are secure?

Have you seen the jobs the illegals take when they come here? You think the Canadians are going to come here to hang out at Home Depot?

That's a visit... not taking up residence.
We raised 20,000 bucks for my Uncle to come down here to have a surgery. Probably one of the few patients there who was actually going to pay out of pocket for his entire stay in the hospital.... the hospital loved it.
"Would you like another bowl of Jello Mr. Warren?" "A pillow fluff maybe?" "Come back anytime."

Well, having lived on the northern border in Idaho and now residing on the border here in SoAz, I can see the point. With the wall finished, I see illegals a couple times a week. Before the wall there were so many that they'd brazenly walk up and down the highway waiting for the ride to Phoenix. Heck alot of mornings going to Sierra Vista there'd be 20-30 to the group walking up the hill. Beep would have a large group rounded up and a mile down the road there'd be 20 more walking or loading into stolen pickups and vans. It is rare now for them to be so brazen. Where up in Idaho/Montana there are hundreds of miles of open borders with no fences or checkpoints. And there was a story on NBC KVOA news a couple months ago about Canadians staying here in Az for years on expired tourist visas, which are good for 3 months. Funny thing is they rack up medical bills and split for the Great White North afterwards. The state was asking Beep and HSD to start pulling over Canucks and checking them out.

I would like to see statistics about how often that happens. And if you don't think that happens both ways... LOL. MCP cards, which is all you had to present to receive care, had no picture and was often "borrowed" by US citizens. Yes, there are illegal Canadians in the US... just as there are illegal US citizens in Canada. They have a Border Patrol in place as well to try and keep y'all out.

Maybe the thing to do is create a national ID card and just be done with it. Can't buy or sell unless you can prove citizenship.

This is what is predicted by religions...There will be a mark "666", and those who refuse will be denied and pay the consequences. I for one will never accept it

I have a very messed up version of what border patrol should be.
I have a good friend, that puts his life on the line, every day, as border patrol, in Texas. He's had a few friends gunned down, by illegals.
Now, we're having to protect our borders from alleged terrorist, coming in from Canada and Mexico, which is very believable.
We already have the automated cameras (infared, even). We have the fences, with the razor/barbed wire, the patrols, etc.
My proposed border patrol...
With those automated cameras, also install .50cal machine guns...motion censored. Every border agent should be equiped with sniper rifles, with night vision/infared scopes. Every time someone pops their head up, over the fence, pop 'em off. Next one, pop 'em off...next one, pop 'em off...and so forth.
Eventually, they'll stop coming.

Pat Buchannan had the right idea 20 years ago when they were talking about building a trench along the border. He said they were leaving the job half done. Build it, fill it with water and stock it with Parana and gators

I am Canadian and you probably couldn't pay me enough to live in your country, sorry lol
The US has so many beautiful places to live but I'm a born and bred Canadian and don't agree with SO many of the things your government does.... so I visit.... and buy plenty of health insurance for the trip in case, God forbid, something were to happen to me there I would be screwed without it.

You mean your government plan won't cover you if you get sick out of country?

This is an issue. My mother in law in Canada has never visited us and in large part it is because she has health issues and the govt plan would not cover her here. Now
that isn't the worst thing but truly, after nearly 8 years, it would be nice.
My husband was part of the "brain drain" and came here with his PhD. Can't even imagine what he could have done to make the same salary in Canada.
My brother/sister in law who lived in the US awhile were bummed to go back. They just got to wait 6 months for their 7 year old son, who has sleep apnea, to get a tonsillectomy. Then they just had to wait to be assigned the day of surgery, hoping they had nothing else going on. So I visit, but don't buy much, because it is pretty expensive comparatively. It is a gorgeous country, but there is good and bad both ways.
The overall issue, IMO, is that NEITHER border is well defended, nor are screenings at airports.

The taste of freedom is frightening to those who are accustomed to the restraints of an oppressive regime. Before the socialists had their way in Canada, most Canadians believed in real freedom. Freedom includes responsibility, and when people don't trust themselves with responsibility, they turn to the government to take away everyones right to make a choice; ie, the Great Canadian gun ban and the subsequent paranoia many Canadians have to come to America where the right to self defense is still a God given right.

*maybe* they do - maybe they don't.... your health insurance seems to like to find excuses as to why not to cover you people.
Americans must be unsatisfied with their healthcare too - or this wouldn't make sense or be funny...

For about a $20 fee/week I am covered out of the country - a pretty minor fee if you ask me.

But you don't get it - I live in a country where I don't NEED to carry a gun lol I go to your big cities and I do not feel safe at all! Sure I'd carry a gun in America, because so many other crazy people do, you don't bring a knife to a gun fight!

LOL! Only Americans can come up with such ideas. We flee to the States because of paranoia created as a result of the gun ban.... LOL.
Every closet has a gun that can take down a Moose... what more would ya need.
