i am going to buy one of the new aquapod nanos when they come out, i have a question about them before i place my order.
1. i plan on buying the new nano fission skimmer along with the nano tank.my question and concern is after looking at the pick of the skimmer, is this skimmer to be placed in a sump/fuge? where will it attach to the nano cube? if the skimmer body itself actually gets suctioned to the inside of the tank where it can be seen i dont think i would want the skimmer.
does anyone know where the skimmer would be placed?

post lots of pics about it and your progress when you get it. One of my friends is thinking of getting one. I am probably just going to get the skimmer since I already have a cube.

Hey Devilboy I am thinking about an nano too! do you think these aquapod and other pre made nano cubs are better than say a 20-30 gal tank???
any feed back would be great.

they both have pros and cons i would say. the nanos have the built in filtration already and decent enough lighting to keep some corals. they have 3 chambers hidden in back where u can place a heater and chemical filtration along with some live rock rubble. you could hide a skimmer in one of the chambers in back. the cons for the nanos are some of the JBJs are prone to cracking. with it be such a small volume you may have water temp issues but they have a micro chiller out for nanos. overall i think if you want to set up a small nano tank, that buying the nano is the way to go....

just make sure it is an aquapod. They are pretty much superior in every way. And not I am not a salesman or something(as someone has accused me of). I myself have a JBJ nano cube.

ok, if all goes well i should get my aquapod nano next week, but i am planning ahead of time so i know what to do when it does get here. as we all know there is 3 seperate chambers in back, i know most ppl get rid of the bio rings, bio balls, and sponges and replace them with liverock rubble, and purigen and carbon. so this is want i need help on i will have the fission skimmer, and a heater, plus liverock rubble, carbon and purigen.
how should i place these in the chambers in back? what should i put in chamber #1? chamber #2, and chamber #3?
chamber 1 - liverock rubble?
chamber 2 - carbon, purigen, and heater?
chamber 3 - skimmer?
could someone help me on how to place these in the right order?
thanks

I would put the skimmer in chamber 1 simply becasue that chamber is the biggest and I am not sure it would fit along with the pump in chamber 3. Also are you planning to install a light and have a small refugium in the back with the LR rubble?

fuge in back?? i thought they were just putting the rubble into one of the chambers in back? please tell me more about what you mean?
install a light where? i will probably buy a retro fit kit sometime also.

Some people install small lights into the hood over the back chambers(ususally between the fans) and keep macro algea as well as the LR in there in order to cut down of phosphates and nitrates like a normal refugium would.
