The reasons I got a reef instead of a dog!

My list may not be as long as some others lol, but I have 30+ American Pitbull Terriers that are my true love, 1 cat, 12g nano reef, 10g nano reef, and a 75g reef (in progress). As soon as the 75g is done I will start on a 90g or 125g built in, should be a fun project.

Wait...wait...wait...wait...you have 30 dogs? Where do you keep them. Why do you have so many. You cant possibly play with them all.

Why can't I ? I spend about 4 hrs a day outside with my dogs. They are all kept in large kennels or on cable runs. On alot of weekends, other than the summer months, I will take 5-6 of them out to the woods for a day of hunting. I also attend many conformation shows through out the year. Trust me my dogs are in much better health than a 10lb over weight couch potato who's name is fluffy. Don't always assume that everyone works 40+ hrs a week, some of us are blessed and spend most of our time at home doing what we love.

I breed them to feed to my reptiles, they are one of the more nutritious bugs for reptiles out there plus there high breeding rate and survival rate, as well as there lack of stench makes them Ideal over crickets, where my tokay alone can eat 12 crickets in one meal everyother day he only needs one full grown cocroach, 12 crickets .10 cents a piece adds up quickly. when you have as many reptiles and pets you do everything you can to lower the cost of maintaining them, I even breed my own mice for my snakes.

All I can say is, brother....how much is the admission to this wild life refuge you have? I am going crazy with a dog, a yellow tang, a neon goby, and my cleaning crew....ha ha ha ha.....I commend you for being able to have all those animals/pets in your house. I couldn't do it. We have a 1 year old Basset Hound....pretties thing in the world, but she is CRAZY :jumping:

I thought I had issues but I feel better now after reading some of the other posts.

I have 2 kids and a wife. Two tanks, and outdoor koi pond. 6 Papillons and upto 20 puppies at a time. We used to raise birds and had over 100 when we sold out and started raising the Papillons (dogs).
One thing I don't understand is why 4 people need 10 cars. I guess I still need help. lol
BTW, fish tanks pee on the floor too some times.

The black cat is sylvester (appropriatly named) he is the only cat thats ever gotten one of my birds. he is super fast and never misses. I have seen him take a robin mid flight in the back yard. now I always make sure he's outside when I go into the bird room (yes they have their own room) he tried to go for the iguana once, but that was short lived a three and a half foot iguana know how to whip its tail and hurt when it does.

When I was in college I had a siberian husky, a cat and a 4' iguana. One day the iguana got out and it was like tom and jerry. The cat was chasing the iguana. The dog was chasing the cat and my wife and I were chasing them all. It was funny. If I had got it on video I would have won that video show.

yeah I bet! our cats dont mess with Zeke (the iguana) any more. he's downright mean. my girlfriend and I "rescued" him and a kingsnake from some one. the kingsnake was all bitten up from improper feeding, but I digress. Zeke can definatly defend himself the cats give him wide berth now, usually takes getting whipped in the face once for them to learn to leave him alone.
