I would have to disagree most ppl I talk to say VHO & PowerCompacts are better than T-5 And most ppl dont even mention t-5 lighting. If you look at the price of t-5 lighting you can metal halides for the same price. And it takes alot of t-5 bulbs to = that of the other bulbs.

I did extensive research before buying my lights, and everything I read says T5 is better. I've even read of people successfully keeping clams with T5 lights. all I know is what I've read, what I've experienced firsthand with different lights, and that my corals seem to be doing better under T5 lights than they were at the lfs under powercompacts.

Basically, give me some good ideas on how to stock this tank with some cool fish and some cool inverts. I want a neat a variety in my tank.

I absolutely love my cleaner shrimp. They do require a mature tank and very careful acclimation, but I think they are 100% worth the patience and effort. Mine climbs right onto my hand. He eats the seaweed salad I put in the tank for the tang and coral beauty, and he scampers around grabbing the food that falls--you can see it passing down his "throat."
Apart from the entertainment value, the cleaner actually provides a very valuable service in your tank--to your fish!
I also have a really neat emerald mithrax crab. He stands on his back "legs" and grabs the seaweed salad, too.
Good luck!

Hey guys...thanks a lot for the insight on the lighting and the inverts. I have a while before I buy anything as I haven't even set up the tank yet. Really good info though.
Thanks!
