The small creatures I seen in my tank.

I had a lot of what seemed to be little shrimps in my tank before I added the fish. They were maybe an 1/8 inch long, very visable. Now they are all gone. I think the fish ate them all. But I loved looking at them I thought it added great life to the tank. Could someone tell me what they were and if I can buy them and breed them in a seperate tank.
Thanks
Kevin

Were they fast moving (Mysid Shrimp) or did they mostly crawl around on their sides and only occationally swim (Amphipods).
Your best bet is to connect a small fishless tank to your display tank (refugium). If they don't show up by themselves then buy some good fresh live rock to place in the refugium.

Thank you I just made a new refugium and I was hoping to add those creatures. I just hope I know what I am doing to maintain my refugium now. I am going to buy new rock today and hopefully I will have them on it. Will they multiply? Is there a special thing I have to do to my refugium? Right now I have my 55 gal. tank going into the refugium I have about 1 1/2 - 2 inches of sand and some rock I had in my original tank. I have it right next to my tank so I can look at it. but is it suppose to be in darkness or light and should I have a light or not? And if so what kind? Regular or Marine grade?
Thank you again
Kevin
P.S. hurry and answer I am going to the pet store in about an hour

All my thriving and happy amphipods have mysteriously disappeared from my 20 gal refugium overnight. They all disappeared at the same time from a 55 gal 2nd tank where they were thriving too.
Mystery?
The only change in my refugium was to change the light fixture for a more powerful unit to grow more corraline algae and soft corals.
Also, I've been dripping Kalkwasser to get my Ca to the max.
I don't see how it could have killed my precious little friends!
Thanks
