i started a nano cube a couple days ago and i got live sand, live rock. i love the rocks i got, they are all purple and are infested with copepods and amphipods. I hope they dont die when my tank starts to cycle. i will have pics later, when? i dont know because i dont know where the cord is to connect my camera to the computer.
i am planning on doing a mini reef with a mated pair of clowns and maybe a Mandarin goby, or a different goby, i still havent decided. i dont have any bristle worms =[. where do the pods come from? any ideas on any corals i should have?

rethink the mandarin. Unless you can train him to eat prepared foods he will quickly starve in a 12g. That being said, I am not opposed to having a mandarin in a nano tank, I keep one in my 24g BUT he is trained to eat prepared and frozen foods. No matter how many pods you think you have, or how many bags of the pods you buy at the store, the mandarin will slaughter the population in no time. He will eat all day, skimming the LR for critters.. thats all they do. You would have to keep the mandarin in a breeder net at the top of the tank and train him over the course of at least a month, maybe more. Some mandarins will not even take prepared food.. period.
Please research this beautiful animal before adding it to your tank. We often buy animals because WE want them, and it becomes their demise. (we have all done it)
Good Luck
Jess
