i live in shadyside, its about 2 mi from downtown pittsburgh. i had to swing through town today on my way to check out a light for my tank (which ended up being garbage, btw). aside from usual police activity, the streets are LINED, with black-on-black urban assult vehicles. the three rivers, are without their usual recreational boaters, but instead are being patrolled by gun-boats. overhead, the occasional life-flight chopper (which i am a medic on) are outnumbered 10-1 by military choppers. there is fuzz on foot, horse, bike, and motorcycle. (still dont understand why i can get a ticket when my dog poops and i dont pick it up, but i their horses that stand 18 hands high can dump on the street). i ordered rock (thank goodness it's dry) and because of this lame G-20 it could be delayed. had this have been livestock, i wouldnt get it until monday.

Bummer. I live way out in the desert by the Mexican border. So we see helicopters and "assault vehicles" all the time. And yes, we see those nefarious black helicopters frequently. It is the DEA.

I got frogs coming in today and I am worried they might be delayed.
When I got the tracking number it had a warning that there might be delays due to the route ( through pittsburgh) that they may have to take.
I am not a happy camper about this. I could drive up and get them but I imagine traffic if going to do be a nightmare.
Time to check the number and hope for the best

Well the frogs finally arrived.
5 hours late but they made it. Much better than I expected I expected them to not make it until tomorrow if they did at all.

I live a couple hours from Pittsburgh. I have been watching it on TV and I have to say I have no problems with demostrating. People should be able to demostrate about anything and anywhere. But when the demostrators start causing destruction and breaking the laws, then they should be hauled off to jail. I am very glad I don't have to visit Pittsburgh anytime soon.
