The tragic story of Victoria and Robert

Well my first fish was a Firefish goby, it was pretty large. Well I felt bad because he was by himself, so ive decided to get a second firefish to try to pair up with him. So I went to my LFS and I did get a smaller one than him hoping that it was a female of some sort. Well I acclimated it and put it in the tank. Well right when it got in the tank the fish went right to the big one. The big one did like a little dance and kinda nipped it. Well the first day the fish hanged out with my big one all day. But when my lights went out the big fish went in his little cave to sleep. The little fish was sooo lost and was swimming around everywere to try to look for the big one. Well I went out to go on the computer for a little while, when I went back I looked in the tank and I noticed that the big one came out of his cave and slept with the little one all night.
Then when night my tank sprang a leak. I had to empty the tank, when I lifted up one of my rocks I noticed both of them were sleeping together under this rock. So I transferred them to this tank I had on the side for future use. That same night the two fish were trying to look for each other in the confusion, they finally found each other and slept together for the rest of the night. Well the next day I went out and got a new 55 gallon to replace the old tank. I transferred everything back to the new tank, and the fish were in a confusion AGAIN. I saw them seperated in two different rocks and I felt so sad for the two. But then I woke up and found the two fish together and I was so happy. Now that the tank is settled and everything is in order the two fish are never again to be seperated.
The other day I noticed the big fish sorta opening all of his fins and gliding towards the little fish. The little fish backed off, when the big fish looked forward the little fish started like nawing his tail but not doing any damage.
So do you guys think this is a mated pair or just a regular pair ?

I am not sure but man what a story. You could write a novel, you really tell the story well and give the fish feeling.
I also notice you live in Orlando, pretty close to me...

I have been married for 33 years. My wife gnaws at my tail all the time. You might just have a mated pair there!

Even with that story, I'm not sure we could tell you if they are a mated pair.

well you could have just got to the "little dance" thingy (BTW...this is normal). But I was expecting you to say...."I picked up the rock, and low and behold, they were both dead from all of the transitions, but alas...I found Robert cradeling Victoria under his right fin...thus they passed on to fishy heaven in peace."
